Conviction Confidence Courage...

If you want hot kink, skip the YouTube video and go down to the next article. But today, this is important to me.

There is a CNN excerpt about how powerful and affecting his speeches are, how people leave his rallies moved to tears. One commenter I read on a speech he gave in November talked about she - a journalist - was crying before he was half done.

I almost did on this video. I've heard him compared to MLK (that's a bit extreme, I think, for right now - maybe in a few months). But the Bobby Kennedy comparisons I've heard - now those I believe.

My God in heaven, he is an amazing orator.

"I know you didn't do this for me. You did this - you did this - because you believed so deeply in the most American of ideals: that in the face of impossible odds, people who love this country can change it."

I'm almost convinced.

Not what I expected to find on a kinky blog - but I'm so glad you posted it.

I happened to watch the speech in which Obama declared his candidature some months ago, and was astonished then by his oratory (and impressed by the content, too). It's been a joy to watch from afar since as he's started to win the hearts and minds of the American electorate. There'll be fingers crossed in the UK as much as in the US in hope for the NH result.

Hi Abel,

Thanks for NOT mentioning the convoluted and just plain awful grammar in this entry :).

I would have gone back and fixed it, but I think it's a lesson for me not to blog in a hurry.

Sparkle,
I am much older than you and became discourage with politics long ago (I worked for Nixon's re-election when I was 15). Now many, many years and presidents later I have to say that Obama is the first canidate to really have me listening and a little excited in a very long time. It will be interesting to watch.

Hugs,
PK

Personally, what I like most about Obama is his voting record. On the issues I care about, given the options available to him (ie, what he had the choice to vote for or against) he has pretty consistently chosen what I'd consider the best available option.

I can only hope that he'd continue to do the same as president. He'd better win, and also be a good president, since I had to change my voter registration to Democrat just so I could vote in the primary (what's wrong with open primaries, I ask you?)
