You know, the smell of caladryl is not very sexy. Nor is the sound of me squirming to scratch very romantic.
That and Chris seems to feel slightly sorry for me.
Of course, he's still spanking me at bedtime. But that's probably because my bottom is one of the few places on me that the poison oak hasn't turned me into something you might see at a recent horror flick.
These are just two of a spectacular collection decorating all four limbs. And some other parts of my body, while not technically afflicted with poison oak, are helping out by demonstrating how eczema also itches.
Yay. (Sarcastic! I'm not really upset, just annoyed. And itchy. And kind of grumpy about it.)
And yes, Chris was outside with me when the poison oak and I became intimately acquainted. And yes, I was dressed. Just not well enough.
Happy Holiday weekend...

So, would the story of how you got into this predicament be of any possible interest to your nosy readers?
Would aloe vera help? It doesn't smell.
Hugs,
Hermione
Oh. That's awful. I'm so sorry.

I've had it before. Miserable! Nothing *really* helps the itching. I heard only 1 in 4 people actually react to exposure. I guess you're one of the lucky ones!

Hermione, we were clearing brush. It wasn't of relevance at all, except that I was helping and he wasn't doing it alone. lol.
Ellie, it is awful. Today may be the worst day yet. I almost can't move my legs.
Jessica, I can't shave either, so my legs are naturally itching from the hair growing back. I have it on both legs, ankles to mid-thighs (front and back) and on both arms up to the insides of my elbows. Theory is that the sweat spread the oil around my arms, and I probably helped exacerbate it last Saturday because I shaved my legs in the shower before I washed. Oh, it's really painful today. Those pictures I posted are nothing compared to the plasma weeping out of the open sores now. Ugh.
yeeeouch. That sounds utterly painful. I hope it eases up *very* soon!
Oh!! I just saw the twitter widget --- sending lots and lots of healing prayers. Poor darling! And, how scary. Big {{hugs}}

Sparkle asked me to comment here and provide an update. She's been tweeting about the situation, but not everyone who reads here follows her on Twitter.
She was hospitalized on Thursday with an infection from the poison oak. It had been seeming to run it's normal, albeit in her case severe, course. But, on Thursday, she started having a high fever and other symptoms that got her EMT husband to take her to urgent care (after seriously considering calling 911). As it turns out, she still got to ride in an ambulance from urgent care to the ER, where they put her on IV antibiotics and admitted her.
She's responded well to the antibiotics, and should be coming home tomorrow morning. They've also been giving her hydrocortisone and other stuff for the poison oak, and while she's still not back to normal, she's doing much better than she was last week.
I'm sure she'll have plenty to say on her own accord when she gets back. She's tweeting from her hospital bed, but can't really blog from her Blackberry.
Thank you for the update, Chris. She's so lucky to have a man who knows how to handle an emergency.
I don't twitter, so am pleased you both thought of us blog readers.
Hugs to Sparkle,
Hermione
