Impish1, you can offer anonymous comments by putting in a bogus e-mail address (anon@anon.com) in the e-mail address line. The only difference is that if you don't provide an e-mail address, you'll comment will be moderated (by me) before published.
For what it's worth, the new blog is set up so that the first comment a user makes on that site will be moderated. If you have cookies enabled, succeeding visits will remember who you are and any future comments are white-listed.
